Spotted on the Murray River
Eurasian Coot
and a few more, there were over 50 of the little darlings
a couple of Pacific Black Ducks
and one giving me a big smile
as well as a family of Australian Wood Ducks and an
unavoidable seagull in the background.

love your wood ducks with their tiny bills. but the pacific black duck is very striking with its stripes!
ReplyDeleteI love them all particularly the Pacific Black Ducks, but they are all so beautiful! Wonderful captures as always, Arija! Hope your week is going well.
ReplyDeletewonderful bird images dear woman.
ReplyDeleteHi there - nice set of pictures - gulls do tens to muscle in on the shots.

Nice selection. Really like the smiles on those Pacific Black Ducks.
ReplyDeleteNo matter where we go along the Pacific apparently the seagulls will always be there! I love theduck... a little different from what we see on "our"Pacific Coast. The coots look just the same, but I never get tired of them. Fun series.
ReplyDeleteThey are "everyday" birds but they are still beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe Pacific Black Ducks have lovely patterns on them.
ReplyDeleteWonderful captures Arija!
ReplyDeleteI think those Pacific Black Ducks are quite handsome. I do see the smile too.
Simply wonderful. I have a huge soft spot for ducks. I suspect the sea gulls we get here have never and will never see the sea.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. I like both ducks and gulls.
ReplyDeleteWe have coots here in the UK Arija - but they are very solitary birds.
ReplyDeleteI love your Pacific Black Duck, they are handsome compared to our American Black Ducks. I do enjoy seeing the Coots too, they are comical. Great post and photos, Arija!
ReplyDeleteYou're right! They are little darling--especially like their rounded bodies and fluff.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this series of photos, but the smiling duck is a real treasure!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like you could really take a rest there !
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures !
Great series!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteThose Pacific Black Ducks are beautiful. Lovely pictures Arija.
ReplyDeleteUnavoidable gull. Ha! Kind of like a sparrow.
ReplyDeleteLove those ducks!!!! Marked so pretty. Nothing like the ones here in Texas.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series of photos.
ReplyDeleteThe first picture is my favorite.

I am sorry that I can not properly write what I want. Automatic compiler works very badly. Coot lives in our country, in the winter we have a very lot. Your photo I like. If you're interested, check out my earlier blog

ReplyDeleteThe Eurasian coots look a lot like the American coots. I LOVE the Australian wood ducks.
ReplyDeleteI love your 'smiling' Pacific Black Duck, and the Wood Ducks are very handsome, too. Your Coots look very much like ours.

Beautiful photos, It would be so neat to travel to Australia one day and see the different species.
ReplyDeleteA bright energetic glow in the pics.
ReplyDeleteLove looking at different ducks. My granddaughters have 2 Mallards we raised, and they are in my barn till their Dad gets an outside pen ready. I've been making friends with them, and they are so cute.
